The history of a dream come true

Our beginnings date back to 1989, when two pharmacists, Vicente Ruiz and Romualdo Bertomeu, decided to make their dream come true and start creating unique cosmetic formulas. They took their first steps in the field by sampling their creations with friends and family, always striving to reach the highest possible quality. The positive response to their formulas, coupled with their high motivation and eagerness to continue making progress, planted the seeds of what was to become RNB today. Their goal has always been clear and remains unchanged —to create top quality cosmetics anybody can afford.

Our history

 

The beginnings. RNB is created

Two young pharmacists, Vicente and Romualdo, start producing small quantities of cosmetics they sell to friends and family, always with a clear vision: To make top quality cosmetics anybody can afford.     

 

BABÉ brand is born

Dermocosmetic products distributed through pharmacies, highly valued by both professionals and consumers, showing fast international expansion.    

 

Mercadona’s suppliers

At the end of the year, RNB becomes one of Mercadona’s suppliers of facial and body care products.  

 

One step further

Babé and RNB go on their separate ways. Babé focuses 100% on the Pharmacy distribution channel while RNB concentrates all its efforts on innovation, production capacity and excellence. The company becomes Mercadona’s “intersupplier” (an exclusive integrated supplier), and even a reference supplier.  

 

First Fragrances

RNB starts making fragrances and becomes category leader in the retail distribution channel. 

 

Sun Protection

RNB launches this new business line, achieving great success in the distribution channel.    

 

International Experience

Beginnings of the company’s international expansion working with its markets’ leading partners in the retail, on-line, pharma and specialized stores channels.

 

Natural Cosmetics Range

For the first time, RNB develops a range of cosmetics with natural ingredients.

  • A team with more than 100 profesionals working on innovation and product development, including pharmacists, chemists, biotechnologists, engineers, marketeers and design specialists.

  • Around 120 selection processes every year and, on average, 40 internal promotion processes each year.
